revell Eclipse

The car is nice so far but I've got some complaining for revell. For anyone who wants to build this car the right way make sure you are ready for rerouting turbo piping. Turbo looks good and intake is right. As I can see it in the instructions and test fit, the air goes from the intake to the turbo and then no where. The tube that connects the turbo to the intake manifold locates to the intake for the turbo?!? This cant be correct since its air to turbo, then turbo to IC or intake manifold.
And for anyone thats built this kit...did you add an IC and how did you route the piping? Thanks.

Re: revell Eclipse

Sorry, I can't help you out there but I was wondering if it came with the stock bumbers. If it doesn't is there a kit or company that has the stock bumbers and stuff.
Thanks

Re: revell Eclipse

I'm working on the model as well. It's not perfect, but it looks ok from the top. You can't see the lower intercooler pipe on the real car unless you really look down in there. The reason the tube from the manifold is going to the intake is because the BOV recirculates on these cars. I don't know if you can see it in this pic, but the upper intercooler pipe (from the manifold)continues into a hole that goes to the fender well, which is where the stock intercooler is located (side mount)

wonton34: No stock bumpers and to my knowledge, no aftermarket parts exist.

I am planing on possible making a stock conversion kit for the Revell kit, if it comes out good enough I may see if I can get someone to cast it.

Re: revell Eclipse

I was going to make another with stock bumpers. If I can buy them, that'd be easier for me.. heh, heh..

Re: revell Eclipse

i believe the kit comes with what looks like a stock talon front and rear bumper but im not sure. Now that you pointed out how this car works...i dont think i'll need to remake the turbo piping for a FMIC. oh well.

No stock Talon bumper either. These are the bumpers it comes with.
