Hi
My name is Chris,I have a Ford Focus 1800cc diesel and I have been driving it for nearly five years without a problem.I work as a freelance photographer in glasgow and surrounding area so as you would expect I do a fair a bit of mileage. A couple of days ago ,heading for the office of the magazine(MOTOR MARKET WEEKLY) I work for, the engine without warning stopped as if someone had switched off the ignition, trully SODS LAW it was pouring cats and dogs , so there I was 6 o' clock at night soaked hungry and pissed off .The tow truck arrived and off went my wee Focus.Today I was told that the main injection pump has given up the ghost and it will cost me £1200 to replace it . Has anyone been in this situation or heard of this problem with focuses having a bad crit to do with injection pumps. The car has 73,000 miles on the clock. Focusles Until Next week.!!! Re: Focus fuel Pump.
There was a massive recall on the Focus fuel pump until I think the model year 03 because of the exact same problem you described. I don't know if it's the same pump that they put in the Euro cars, but for that amount of money, it's worth looking into.
