Anyway to increase acceleration?

Cheap stuff, nothing big, I got about $500 to spend. Its for my Monte Carlo so it's a 3.4. Also I WOULD post this in the Monte Carlo section but its a freaking graveyard over there, so help me out.

Re: Anyway to increase acceleration?

3.4..... dunno much about them besides the 3800 is better, lol. I could help you out then. Or well, then you could go the the Grand Prix forum, in fact you still might be able to. They are v-6 happy.

Re: Anyway to increase acceleration?

Intake and exhaust are your best bet. Those are normally the first mods anyone start off with.

Re: Anyway to increase acceleration?

Eh, most aftermarket exhaust's have a louder noise over the stock exhaust. But that's why I've always liked Borla, not too loud at all and not too quiet as well. Just perfect. If you've got the $$$ then I'd say go with them. That's where I got mine, cost me $555 for a complete cat-back system.

My stock exhaust makes no sound at all, that's what I like about it. I mean if I wanted some sound i'd get a Magnaflow turbo exhaust that is pretty cheap.

Re: Anyway to increase acceleration?

Well you asked if there was an exhaust kit that made no sound... and the only one I know of that doesn't make alot of sound and is close to no sound is Borla. Sorry if I don;'t know of any others that are cheaper. But IMO Borla is extremely reliable and well worth the investment.

Re: Anyway to increase acceleration?

I know there are mufflers out there designed to flow massive amounts of exhaust but still dampen most of the sound, not all but most. Look into it, look at the cut-away pics of the mufflers and I'm sure you can find something out there...

Re: Anyway to increase acceleration?

True, a 50 or 100 shot would give you that extra kick in the pants without making noise when you don't want it to.
