Power wires for my amp..

I have just purchased a alpine v12 mono amp model: MRD-M605 with a 12" alpine type R sub model: SWR-1242D, and i was wondering what gauge wiring i should get, i have read around and i have heard 4 gauge but i have no idea...and i was wondering where is the cheapest place to buy them. if the 4 gauge is what i need, i looked at overstock.com ( http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2....od_id=1182498# ) and found that one, and was just curious if anyone has ever ordered anything from them. thanks for your help.

its going in a 96 civc ex, with a alpine CDA-9827 cd player...

Re: Power wires for my amp..

Go to www.the12volt.com/info/recwirsz.asp to find the correct size cable. It doesnt hurt to go bigger just incase you want to upgrade to a more powerful system. If you only want cable i got mine from a local welding supply company. I bought 20' of 2 gauge for $21. Welding cable is awesome because it has a very rubbery shell that's easy to flex and it can take like 200 Amps or more. You can check out my install at www.cardomain.com/id/turbolaxx
