Just a little buying help Please
Hey guys, so I finally made it to Japan. I'm here in Misawa and on the hunt for a R33 Skyline. Of course I wanted the GT-R, but they're asking 17,000. I was thinking about the lesser GT-S model but I'm not sure on the differences. The R32 is within grasps however I don't like the body style. Some of the post here say the R32 is stronger or better. If I can't afford the R33 GTs then I'll have to go with the R32 GTR. I'm just asking for some consolidated info on both the R33 GTS and the R32 GTR or GT-S4so that I can make a better buying decision. Thanks in advance.

Re: Just a little buying help Please
You should have no problem buying 17k car on a military salary. I had ~4-5 cars at a time when I was in the Air Force... of course, I have upgraded to ~7 now :-( not enough space or money to work on all the toys

Re: Just a little buying help Please
I would take a R32 GTR over a R33 GTR anyday. But, thats me. They are easier to work on, and lighter.

I can afford a $17000 dollar car but the banks don't offer a used car loan for anything older than six years. If I get anything newer than a 95 MotoRx is going to kill me on the conversion cost. Are the R33 GTR and R32 GTR worlds apart or pretty evenly balanced? Also the R32 GTR and GTS4 are also completely different right? The body style of the R33 is beautiful but the R32 cannot be denied. I also noticed that in one of your polls most everyone placed the R32 as most favored and I was just curious as to why? Is it simply because its more obtainable? Thanks for the info guys

Re: Just a little buying help Please
I looked all around for a 33 GTR before getting a 32 for the same reason's you listed. My suggestion to you is stay away from broadway motors by the airport. Try Hachinohe, Sendai, Aomori, or Morioka. I paid 10 gs for my GTR and it is worth every penny. As far as the difference between the 33 and the 32 go. Think about this same motor same power but the 33 is way heavier. But I agree it is the better looking of the 2. If you can afford 17gs for a car get a 32 for cheap and put some money into it you won't regret it.

Re: Just a little buying help Please
The R32 is a hands down better buy. Like Dragon mentioned, same drive train for less money. Plus you can 2wd with a flip of a switch, you cannot do that with a R33

Re: Just a little buying help Please
I'm glad you mentioned Hachinohe cause thats were I got the family car. It's hard to trust someplace without recomendations. Thanks for the great advice and for not flaming me. Hopefully the next time I post it will be with some great pics of my new street demon. I diffenitly like the 2WD switch option. Thanks again!

Re: Just a little buying help Please
speaking of this, any idea when RB motoring will take the reins?
and yeah the R32 is lighter, overall better performance, and any r33, r34 upgrades are easy enough to buy seperately i do like the r33 styling though, but i would not have that as my ONLY reason to buy a car. i would go find a kpgc110 skyline! those ROCK!

Are You F*King Kidding ME! I'm sorry for the late response I've had to go to the library for the internet. MotoRX is done?! That really sucks. Are you sure they're not importing any more Skylines? It's not just a slump? I'm glad you told me. I'm just shocked right now.
