liquid

hi every1..
i know that this topic had been discussed b4 , but seriously i didnt get an exact answer for my question..

iv got a sprint race tomorow.. and im goin to drive the import toyota Soarer (sc300) 1JZ twin turbo..

im planning to use the liquid NOS or as they call it (octan booster),,

now the track we gonna race on is very very short.. its almost an 1 minuts track..

soooooooooooooooooooooo .. question is .. how much fuel do i need.. for such tracks.. (leters) ..

soo basically.. i would be running 3-4 minuts .. only on a racing atmosphere.. and throutle pressure..

and how much of this octan booster do i need to mix..

it says on the can.. that it can treat up to 60 liters.. but .. then thats the max.. so what is the best.. amount.. ?!??!

Re: liquid

I'm too drunk to weed through the secret meaning of this post...but my advice to you is dump the entire bottle in, no matter how much fuel you are carrying...also...if you are racing under a specific sanctioning body, aren't you doing something illegal?

Re: liquid

octane booster will hardly do anything for you, especially if your engine is in good condition. It matters so little that its not worth occupying your brain cells with.

Tests have actually shown that, if your using high octane fuel (here in oil land thats 93), you can atually get upwards of a three point boost, and that was with the NOS octane booster. I blieve in the test the were using California slop 91 (just kidding Cali guys), and the NOS booster took it up to 93.4 somthing. So, it will raise your octane rating, and that would, theoretically, be better for your car. Anyways, a bottle is only what? Three bucks? So if it doesn't work, its not like your making some major investment. And if by import you mean the motor is a Japanese motor, isn't Japanese 93 octane, really like, 95-96 by our standards? I say do it.

Re: liquid

Wait, so we are talking about octane booster...not nitrous oxide right. Well in that case:

1) why are you using it. Do you have turbos and plan on turning up the boost? Because if you are running strictly normal, higher octane doesn't help you. It has a higher burning point to reduce pre-detonation. So if you aren't getting knock already...and aren't turning up boost...you are hindering yourself by using any higher octane than is necessary.

2) Read teh back of the bottle...in small letters it says every 'point' it claims to raise your octane, is in fact 1/10 of an octane. So if it says it raises your octane 13pts, and you have 91octane in the gas tank. Then it will really only raise you to 92.3 if you use the appropriate amount for however many gallons of gas you have in your tank.

So in conclusion. It is generally worthless...but if you still plan on putting it in. Just use the whole bottle. If you do have turbos and want to turn up the boost significantly, either get propane or alcohol injection, or some race gas.

liquid

thank u all for the reply's...

ok one more thing.. the fuel we use is 95 octan.. so i guess thats preety low.. isnt it.. ?

coz i heard from some of japaneez mechanics that they even have 108 octane in japan.. so those guys dnt have to worrie a bout the detination wene increasing the boost right ?

im currently running on a standard boost 10kpa.. with 95 octane..

soo what do u guys think.. ???

anyways.. is there a difference between octane boost and fuel NOS ??
well i dnt think so.. coz on the bottle it says. NOS on the top and under it , it says.. OCTAN BOOST..

so guys .. use the all octan boost with how many litters of fuel.. ? 1/4 tank or 1/2 tank ?

thnx again

IRS=Independent Rear Suspension...meaning both rear wheels don't have a common connection and go on their merry way doing whichever they please without considering for the other...good for road racing, bad for drag racing....A live axle means there is a solid rear beam that connects the two wheels which means that both wheels share feedback from the other...the ride isn't as good or as responsive as with IRS, but it is better for drag racing.
