2000 Tahoe Keyless Entry Programming Questions

I have a 2000 Z71 Tahoe OLD BODY style, remote part# 16245100-29. I have a question, I have been reading the forum and I see there are 2 ways to program my keyless entry on my Tahoe. The 1st method is the grounded paper clip in 4/8 on the data port. But I have also read that on the "High End Models?" you have to turn the ignition on then off. Remove radio fuse and repeat the on off motion 3X's then locks will cycle. Does anyone know which method I should use. I haven't tried either I don't want to mess anyting up. Thanks fo your help!
