1993 gt?

i know that a 1993 gt has 205 horsepower, but where does the speed come from? like if a 93 gt raced another car, say a 2002 grand prix, v6 with 205 horsepower, wouldnt the gt smoke the grand prix? and how much power can the 87-93 gt's take before you have problems with the drive line and that other stuff?

Re: 1993 gt?

Well just to answer the first question, if both cars have 205 hp it would depend on witch car is lighter. The difference in torque would also matter.

I'm pretty sure the '93s came with 225 horsepower. Also, the 5.0 is a torque monster and will run with many cars from a dig. The horsepower isn't much but the torque makes it an awesome stop light to stop light racer.

Also, the 5.0's drive-line and stuff can take a little over 400 ponies from what I've read.

Carroll Shelby said it best: "Horsepower sells cars, Torque wins races."

i'm pretty sure the 93 gt has 225 hp also mabey even higher, as for smoking the grand prix it'll be up to you as a driver since the grand prix only comes in automatic.
