Progress: Eclipse Gt-s

This is a revell kit I just had to get. Im going to do it my way. Some of the parts that came with the kit is just a NO, No
Anyways, Ive done little so far. Just Detailed the front end, Custom built Intercooler and what not. The color of the car will be Brook Blue Metallic.
Only one picture right now, More will come.

Looks cool. As you may know, I have a WIP thread on the car here too so I know what you mean about the kit parts. Some are just no good... It looks like yours is going to be a quality piece judging by the scratch intercooler's quality.

FYI the model is a GSX. There were no GT-S in this model of Eclipse. The GT-S name didn't come until the 3rd generation in 2000.

How do you know it is GSX (AWD) not GST(FWD)? There was no exterior difference between them, besides rear high spoiler. Also you can find GST with rear high spoiler just straight from factory.

You're right, there were no exterior differences. They both had the same spoiler too. Well, there was the 17" wheels on the GSX, compared to the 16" on the GST, but this kit doesn't have either of the stock rims.

Underneath the car is another story. The GST exhaust has many bends, some nearly 90°, while the GSX has a more or less straight exhaust. (when I say exhaust, I mean from the turbo back btw). Also, the GSX has a driveshaft that goes to the back wheels, while the GST doesn't. The model's underside represents the GSX. (even though Revell only put a decal for GS-T)

Re: Progress: Eclipse Gt-s

I guess it resembles the GSX and Gt-s in many ways, I never notice it till you guys started talking about it. Reason I said Gt-s is because thats what it said on the box. Once again Revell screws up some how.
Other than that, thanks for the reply. Cleared some things up for me.

That's odd.. my box doesn't say what type it is at all, other than '99 Mitsubishi Eclipse, although it mentions the all-wheel-drive chassis on the side of the box. Maybe you have a newer printing? Oh well.. heh.

Another FYI and a little history lesson. I think you're still confusing GT-S and GS-T. There are 4 generations of Eclipse.

The 1st and 2nd gen were RS, GS, GS-T (FWD Turbo), and GSX (AWD Turbo)

3rd gen had RS, GS, GT, and GT-S. The GT and GTS both having the same V6 engine and all were FWD.

4th gen just came out last month, so i'm not too sure about it..

Ah, Thanks for the explanation! I got it now. The Gt-s wasnt exactly on the box. It was on the decal sheet. I will get a photo of that soon.

EDIT: I just looked at the Decal sheet. It says "GS-T". Surry for my ignorance, Im not used to Mitu

Re: Progress: Eclipse Gt-s

It doesn`t matter if it is GSX or GST. The best thing is that`s not GS or RS

Actually.. the 95-96 have different bumpers, side skirts, and wheels than the 97-99. I own a '95 GS-T (seen in my sig). The 97-99's are considered to be more aggressive looking due to the bumpers and hi-rise wing, while the 95-96 are more rounded around the edges and only came with the lower 3 piece wing.

I love that front bumper and costum intercooler, but in what scale is this model, in 1/24, 1/18 or bigger ?

Re: Progress: Eclipse Gt-s

Josh. Do you want me to change the title to GS-T?
