i have a 99 2500 with the 5.7 enjine, 123000 miles, i have removed the top of the radiator shroud, and the four bolts that I thought held the fan assembly onto the water pump, but the fan is still holding tight. i need to peplace the water pump but i can not figure out how to get the fan off is there something i am missing?
I dont want to tear up anything by beating on it, unless that is what i need to do.
thanks for any help you can provide it has been a long time since i worked on a auto?
update figured it
out fan clutch screws on to waterpump, must remove prior to removing four screws that retain belt pulley
