How many miles will they go!

Ok I'm sitting here with 320,000 miles on Triton V-8 5.4 liter and I'm wondering how many miles will this motor go. It uses a quart of oil between oil changes but I dont put the quart in because its ready for an oil change anyways. I'm changing oil between 3,000 and 5,000 miles. So how far will it go before it needs replaced anyone know or have more mileage on theres?

I have heard of cabs with over 500,000 miles on them, 4.6Ls though, but VERY similar.

I just did an oil change and tune up on a 00 F250 with a 5.4 that showed 520,000 on the clock. I thought the damn odometer must be broken but it's dead on.

we have three in our fleet. one with 475,000. one with 459,000. one with 463,000. we have had to replace 1 intake gasket. ours do a lot of idling also, so i would guess that they probally have a lot more than that on them. they use about 1 quart between changes.

I just sold a 94 4.9 with 249,000 and I still own a 96 4.9 that I personally have put 170,000 on. It is good to read your posts and that the newer trucks (post 96 the last year of the 4.9) are going a lot of miles without major repair. I never have rebuilt a motor or tranny. Replaced radiators and starters and of course the cap, rotor, wires, fuel filter. Also did the fuel pumps. That is about it.
