Gas petal sticks with warm engine
In the arena of minor nuisance problems, I've got a gas petal that sticks once the engine warms up a bit. It seems that the gas petal becomes harder to press from standing still which can become a real pain in the butt while parking or cruising in a shopping area (10 mph or slower). I'll normally tap it a few times to loosen it up. There appears to be nothing wrong with the cruise control though. I hadn't thought of spraying anything on the throttle linkages. I figured that that might contaminate something and turn it into a bigger problem.
Just wondering if anybody had this problem and if there's a "stupidly simple" fix for it. |

Re: Gas petal sticks with warm engine
Odd...I used to hve this same problem with my 92 Z24. I have no idea what it is, but I can say the problem seemed to happen far less with I took a can of Carb/Throttle Body cleaner to the TB. Give that a shot.

Re: Gas petal sticks with warm engine
Sounds more like your throttle cable is physically sticking. (Clean/replace) Or, possibly your gas pedal. I've known a Tempo to have a sticky gas pedal. Just spray lubricate it.
