Re: engines??

Yes. I'd reccomend you put in a 3.1 which wouldn't require cutting. A 3400 would just require some new mounts. Of course both require all the wiring and crap, but I'm sure you already knew that if you want to put a diff motor in there.

Re: engines??

The largest dropped in with no cutting of the fire wall was the 3800 .

Re: engines??

From what I understand, the 3800 SC sometimes has trouble clearing the hood and the towers, but the firewall shouldn't be a problem.

However, for sake of ease and money, your best bet would just to find a Z24 or an RS with a 3.1 and swap out the mounts and all other stuff you'd need. Cheap and quick...just like I prefer my women.

Yeah, I saw that white car with the 3.8 on cardomain or something. That shit is crazy. Do you need a new transmission when you do a crazy swap like that?

Re: engines??

engine maybe heavy, but when your car weights like 1 ton and some stock, and is meant for a car that should be around 1 1/2 - 2 tons = fast.
