GT30/GT35 turbo kits

does any one else make a GT30R or a GT35R turbo kit besides extremeboost? Is there any problems with their gt30 kit? says to be making 450 or so rwhp but numbers said by the company are always a little off..

Last of all, a small question I have always had stuck in the back of my mind. The whole deal between the SW20/SW22. I know both are turbod.. and the only difference I have noticed between the two is that the rear brace is different. When you see body kits or turbo kits for the SW20 will they also fit on the 22?? Thanks a lot.

Re: GT30/GT35 turbo kits

I have a GT35R on my car, but I had a custom "kit" made for it. I am not aware of anyone making ready-made kits for our cars for these turbos.

As for your other question:
SW20 is the chassis code

On VIN numbers:
SW21 = non-turbo 5SFE engine
SW22 = turbo 3SGTE engine in North America
SW20 = turbo 3SGTE engine in the rest of the world

There are lots of differences between them beyond the X-brace. The brakes are different, many options are different, the radiator is different, the transmission ... bunch of stuff.

Re: GT30/GT35 turbo kits

Ok well... I do want a SW20 but the thing is, I cannot find one Any where.. its almost impossible lol.. Any ways, Most of the body kits I see are for the 91-95 SW20 MR2 and I am curious if the parts are interchangeable?

Re: GT30/GT35 turbo kits

TRD2000, the turbos and the NAs have different trannies and brakes.

The 93+ MR2s also have different trannies and brakes (both NAs and turbo are different as well).

JoeWitAFro, any body kit will fit on any of the MKIIs (SW20s)

Nvm.. didnt see you posted that Ok, so is there a "best" year to get? I like 91-92 or the 93+ because of the new trannie and brakes?
