1996 tauras

Hello i am having a problem with my 1996 ford tauras, alot of people have told me different things i asked somone at the dealer but i dont think they know what they are talking about. heres the deal

If i come to a complete stop sometimes my car will not go i have to put it in park and then back in drive or somtimes you have to shut if off to even get it to go. now the dealer did not see my car, but he said if it gets on they had this aluminum piston in there that cracked. well i drove it the other day in the morning and it happend when it came right out of my drive way. i asked another guy who knew what it is was even before i told him he said there are elctronic switchs in my transmission that are mested up and i need to get replaced. i dont know what the heck is wrong have you guys had this problem at all? i thank you for the help have a good day.

If I understand you correctly you're saying that after you come to a complete stop, once you press on the accelerator pedal the engine just revs but the car doesn't move. If so, the first guy is very likely right about the aluminum piston and you probably need your transmission rebuilt.

see my only thing is though is that it is a rebuilt model and the car was totaled before and they had to rebuild it. :-s
