Shifting Problem

I am also haing problems (1994)with shifting..(automatic trans).when I take of..it sometimes won't go into 1st, and when traveling 60mph automatically downshifts for awile..then goes back to normal...I had the fluids and filter changed..helped a little..then I had the shifting selenoid thing inside the tranny cleaned..it worked great for about 3 weeks..now back to it's old tricks.

HELP!!!!

94, how many miles on?

I knew a guy that was having problems with his AT, he changed the fluid 3x in about or 7 or 8000 miles, and it was fine after that. If the fluid change helped, then degraded over time, then some of the sludge (for lack of a better word) has worked itself around the transmission. I'd think that changing the fluid again will help. Just my

Do you think it is the transmission?

Is the transmission having problems itself? Is it worn out? When you replaced the tranny fluid did you "power flush?" I think that helped when I changed the fluid, I had AMMCO transmission flush the transmission, they hook up a blower to it. Maybe that would help. And did you adjust the transmission when you replaced the fluid and filter?
