for any of those who have shaved your door handles on your hatchbacks did any of you put a safty release cord jsut incase you get locked out or your battery dies. cause im wonder how to do that. as well were should i mount the solenoids and stuff for this.

Re: shaved doors ect

Just go in though the hatch, unless you plan to shave the keyhole for that also. Most people put them in the front fender, thats about the only logical place to put it. You mount the shit in the door, on the linkage... common now thats common sence your flirting with.

Re: shaved doors ect

so you reccomend just crawling through the hatch and stuff if my battery dies and stuff. anyways i know what to attach it to but like everything needs to be mounted vertically not horizontally.

Re: shaved doors ect

Put the release cable inside your car in the hatch area. That way you can open up your hatch and pull the release cable, unless you plan on shaving the keyhole like Chamber said. Other wise you have to put it were no one can find it so people dont still it one day.

Re: shaved doors ect

this is exactly what me and a buddy were talking about, u lock ur keys in ur car one day, forget about them and go to hit the door release and theres a bunch of people around.... next time one of those people see ur car, gone!

and as for placement of the solenoids, i put mine right where the armrest is, best spot for them IMO because it sits right in that pocket and you dont have to cut any of your door skin. i'll try and post some pics when i get my solenoids mounted on my new doors as well, i'm getting annoyed looking at my messed up doors from being hit

Re: shaved doors ect

shaving it no problem to mean ebcuase all you have to do is slowly tack weld the metal plate in the door lever hole and make sure not to over heat it and it will be fine.
