Need Help!!!!!!

hey, im 15 yrs old, and work 2 jobs over the summer for a car, and my parents gave me the okay to buy a bronco, im looking for a late 80s-early 90s.i really dont know much about broncos, thats where u come in.
I have some questions..

1. what should i know about these years of broncos?
2. are they hard to work on for a kid that has little experience on working on cars?
3.What are good websites to buy parts for them?
4. what are some good manuals on taking care of, and doing work on Broncos of this year.

Thanks
Jono Pilatti

Im am new on here too, but I have an 86 Bronco Fullsize w/302 efi. I got mine for 450 bucks. since I have had it, I have replaced the oil pressure switch, front brakes, starter relay and wiring going into the starter relay, done a tune up (plugs and wires), and am currently replacing a collasped brake line. The kid that I bought it from didnt take care of it. I am 19. I own a 86 bronco and a 94 explorer. The bronco is pretty easy to work on if you are dedicated to doing the work. Just like any vehicle it takes time. The chiltons manual for the bronco is pretty much a step by step do it yourself book. They are around 20 bucks.

Re: Need Help!!!!!!

The main thing you have to realize about those years Broncos is the compatibility issues. An 86 bronco is not compatible with an 87. only 87-89 work together. 90 and up I'm less familiar with, so I'll let someone else speak on those. I have an 88 as my 'Runner' and an 87 as a 'parts truck' they are 99% compatible, except for the clutch.

As far as 'The Work' goes: The Computer engine is something a young man has to deal with, so it's better that you learn with one of these less complicated engines, rather than the modern "over-affiliated" versions that no one can understand. I started with a 93 Tempo, and it gave me a great view about how the computer helps, and hinders, automotive problems.
