all 3 brake lights on all the time. WTF?

All three of my brake lights are staying on, even with ignition off, even with brake fuse pulled. Any ideas?

sounds like your brake light sensor is stuck. I have no clue as to where it would be on this truck, though

Oops, I didn't specify truck. 2000 Z-71 extended cab. Brake light switch is near the top of the pedal's shaft. Is that what you're talking about? That's a replaceable part, not fixable. I haven't had a chance to test it.

Yeah, that would be it. I didn't mean that you hadn't told me what year truck you have, but the last Chevy pickup that needed work done to that sensor that I worked on was an 84. I didn't know if they had kept it the same or not. Guess they did.

Re: all 3 brake lights on all the time. WTF?

This part sticking would make my brake lights stay on?

yes, because when you push the pedal, it depresses the button on the part. If it got stuck after it had been pushed, it would just stay on.

when you press that pedal, it releases that button. Check it out anyway, it could cause this, however I wouldn't think it would with the fuse pulled.
