Re: Supra Problems...

If it smells like 'raw' gas, its not likely the regulator.
raw gas smell?? Check for a gas leak at hoses, evap canister, etc.

I'm hoping I found out whats wrong, I cleaned my spark plugs, and oil that leaked into the plug areas, (using old valve cover gasket) test drove it, the smell isnt as bad as it was before. I guess now all I have to do is wait for the new gaskets to come in. Another problem now..turbo not boosting as high..(sad) I guess it gives me an excuse to buy a new one...

man you should wait for those new gaskets before u decide to buy a thousand dollar turbo it could be leakin due to low oil pressure but from what u said maybe there is a problem with it. when i blew my head gasket it gave me a huge power loss and the turbo didn't act the same 25mph in third gear is kinda slow ya know?

Wow, 25mph 3rd gear? my old eclipse was like that..hehe..yea..I'm just really frustrated with my supra...its been a year now since i've really been driving it, The burnt oil smell gets me high all the time. So I parked it. I changed the exhaust gasket hoping it would help..but no..now i'm going to change just the valve gaskets..(praying that it cures the problem) I mean its gotten to the point where the for sale sign is gonna come out. Does anyone know what else could be causing the burnt oil smell? I really dont wanna tear my motor apart unless I have too..(still sad)

Re: Supra Problems...

Is this a MKIII or IV?

My MKIV had this same issue, I discovered it was because the charcoal canister was removed, and the vapor return line to the fuel tank was left open. I ran a line from the vapor return to the intake infront of the turbo. Fuel smell gone. Ron
