Auto 240 to Infinity!

My mom completely killed my dreams of a 5-Spd 240 today. She said that if i swapped it she would MAKE me take it out. I will turbo this CAR! It will be an automatic but I will turbo it! I just want to know what the Auto Tranny can hold daily driving and abuse wise. Once I turn 18 which will be around same time of turbo ill get the 5-Spd. Im getting Coilovers and Strut bars now. and then it will be Rims and Big Brakes..then save fro turbo.

wait so are you going to turbo it before you are 18 and you can put the 5-speed in? or do it at the same time when your 18? cuz you said it will be an automatic but i will turbo it! but then you also said you are going to be getting the 5-speed around the same time as the turbo setup so im confused. either way i wouldnt trust the auto past like 6 psi or so.

whats up with her hatred of 5-speed's???

Re: Auto 240 to Infinity!

Here's what you do, next time you are on the highway, throw the tranny into reverse, at that point, don't worry if you hear a loud noise, that's just your transmission falling onto the road, then come back home, tell your mom you need a new tranny and it would be stupid to spend all that money on auto tranny when you can easily do the swap.

Re: Auto 240 to Infinity!

Fuck man, that really sucks. I don't know if I could take driving an auto 240 for so long, but maybe its different if you are used to it. What is her problem anyway? Sounds like she is overprotective. Its not like she is going to have to worry about shifting gears or anything.

Yea...

It had a DSG(Direct Shift Gearbox) which is a Clutchless Standard...it had your 5-Spd pattern but it sensed weight on the shifter to anticipate shifts and it was like an Automatic with shift on demand. Thats why i called it sequential.
