Help me start this biaatch!

Since its summer, and I'm in Florida, its hot as ass. My car doesn't start when its hot outside but when it gets dark and my car cools down, it cranks right up. I think its my main relay and if it is how the hell can i get to it? Thanks

Talking

I live in florida and I had the same problem, just get a new "MAIN RELAY" very easy to install. :-) Cost: $50 (or something like that). I bought it in http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com.

To install it just go under the dash in the driver side and u would see a (brown) plastic cover holding the relay, just take the relay out of the cover and put the new one. :-)

wont start when hot. - main relay

honda accord and prelude in tha late 80's had common problems of not starting when they get warm or it is very hot outside.. many times the cause for this is the main relay located on the side of the fusebox under driver side dash. i took mine out. 10 mm socket needed on my 89 prelude si 4ws. easy to do. you can either buy a new one fo like 60 bucks or so or you can take the cover off of the plug once it is out of the car, and resoldier all of the soldier spots on it.. (shiny metal spots) i had neva soldiered anything before i tried this, and now my car starts everytime i turn the key no matta how hot it is outside reguardless of warm the engine is either.

Re: Help me start this biaatch!

Does the car turn-over, but just not start when the main relay is bad? Mine is turning over, but not starting.

I also heard my problem may be the fuel pump... 89 prelude

Re: Re: Help me start this biaatch!

the car will crank and crank and crank some more. . but not start.. the main relay sends a signal to turn on the fuel pump when the key is on.. my car would only not start when or after it got hot.. the sodier in tha main relay kept heating up after warm and would not let the fuel pump turn on because tha relay was not getting a good connection.. does you car start anytime at all? if not your problem may be the fuel pump. thats what i thought was wrong with mine but i soldiered my main relay myself with no previous experience using a soldier iron and .. BANG starts everytime even when its 100 degreez out.. hope this helps.
