coolant temperature sensor 97 aurora

I have tried my best to locate the coolant temperature sensor on my 97 but i can not find it. i have read that on the 95 it is located near the egr valve near the rear head, is it the same on the 97?

does any one have any pictures or a diagram to show where it is? thanks

The ECT sensor(engine coolent temperature) is located on the drivers side of the engine behind the transmission and towards the firewall near some sort of bracket. My FSM doesnt give a very good diagram of where it is and the diagram it does give is without the transmission being in place.I would say that if you were looking straight in at the flywheel without the tranny in place the ECT sensor would be at 2 O'Clock. I went out to my 97 Aurora to see if I could see it but I couldnt so it will be lots of fun replacing. Best of luck to you!

I looked at mine (2002) and I think that it is connected to the bottom of the sure tank. Then again, it may jest be a coolant level sensor. But, somethings there cause I can see wires.
