How to remove softop door windows?
I just got a 1988 Wrangler with a soft top. Three rods on the bottom of each door window frame appear to insert into the tops of the the metal half-doors. But I couldn't figure out how to remove the door window frames from the half-doors. Googled it; searched this forum; no luck. Anyone help? Thanks!

What make of top is it? (Bestop/ Pavement Ends/ etc.)
Im not sure about anything but bestop. Theres a "Belt rail" that runs along the top of half-doors that a narrow strip of rubber (on the cloth part of the door) slips into. Basically open the door, grab the corner of the cloth closest to the door hinge and pull down (and out slightly). The rubber strip SHOULD slide out of the groove along the length of the door. Theres also a snap at the front of the steel door on the "upper outside" then just lift the frame from the 3 holes you described earlier. Hope this helps.... |

I forgot to mention it, but my Wrangler is a '94. It should still be the same style top though..

Re: How to remove softop door windows?
Thanks for the info Simmonz! Gonna try it today! It's a Bestop, 1997 date on it. I had looked on the Bestop site and didn't find the info; also hadn't found it in the 1988 Owner's Manual; so I appreciate your help!
