Top Speed
Can anyone else tell me what there b16a tops out at. Mine will only hit 115 and i guess a govenor kicks in because i'm still 2grand from redlining, and how can i get rid of my govenor.

damn, you should be able to hit higher than that - my stock d16a6 hits over 120mph, or shall I say did when I had the si tranny in. What ecu are you running?

your problem is a governor in the ecu, all japanese ecu's have that. either chip your ecu, replace it with a usdm one or get a field's vtec controller.

JDM ECUs dont allow any higher than that. thats the fastest i went on a PR3 ECU.

Yup Yup, jdm sucketh the cocketh. I think there accually the slowest top speed of all fourth gens, on unmodified ecu.

It should top out higher so yea it probably is your ecu, but I assume you have a B16a tranny so still you wouldn't have a lot of top end even if you got a different ecu.

To remove the governor just pick up an Apexi Rev/Speed meter. I have one on all my cars and it is an awsome toy. You can also raise the RPM limiter.
