Is there any hope?

So I saw a car for sale on autotrader this morning and got all excited. In my haste (sp?) to type something my hand decided it would like to knock my juice all over my new wireless keyboard. I wiped it off all good and let it dry for a lil' bit and it worked for a good long while. Then I had to go to work and now 10 hours or so later it doesn't work at all. Is there anything I can do to make it work or do I hafta buy a new one?

maybe you could remove the circuit board and use contact cleaner on the whole thing and wash the keys and case in warm water (a collander works well for washing keys). i once read an old navy training manual that said that circuit boards can be washed in distilled water, but must be air dried for for 24 hours before reinstalation (maybe i'll give that i try in the near future; now i'm curious as to whether it will work on modern electronics). take your chances on that one. when my roommate spilled tea in my laptop i opted for contact cleaner on the motherboard and the kitchen sink for the plastic case; besides it would still boot, it was just stickey. i can't say that you will be able to resurect your keyboard, but it can't hurt to try before you decide to buy a new one.

Is it a Logitech? Call 'em up and tell them it quit working and you tried several sets of new batteries and everything and there's no hope. They'll ask you for the serial number. If it's still under warranty, they'll send you a new keyboard and you don't have to send the old one back. I occasionally have a Logitech product die on me. I just let them know. They usually don't ask how it died. Then later, they send me a replacement. From now on, Logitech's the only input device I'll buy.
