What's this part called?

Hey guys i have a 92 accord with the 2.2L that leaks oil like a mofo. It comes not from the oil filter, but from the silver colored piece of metal the oil filter screws into. What is this part called and sorry for sounding stupid lol. I heard oil pressure switch and oil sender switch so far.

thanks for the help.

Re: What's this part called?

Probably called the oil cooler if your car has one. The oil pressure sensor/switch is above the filter/cooler assembly.

what is a Pneumo-hydrocillating framizam???- never heard that one before. guess- air operated cooling something? basically I'm just asking if Pneumo-hydrocillating framizam is a fancy word for oil cooler or if it is something else entirely.

If it's the oil cooler is it just the gasket that's probably leaking or do you think i will need a whole new cooler? Also how does it come apart?

and by above (pressure switch) do you mean up near the intake manifold or directly above it(as in almost touching it).

thanks for all the info i am really new to hondas as you can tell.

Re: What's this part called?

This has been discussed previously on this board. To gain knowledge about this and other problems with the Honda, please do a search or just look back to previous posts and you will get most of the information you need re your problem. If after reading the posts, you still have questions, come back to the board with them.

yeah ok sorry for taking up your precious bandwidth. And for your information i did a search on this website and I also looked thoroughly though my hynes manual and still couldnt find the name of the part that the oil filter screws into. I mean, sure, i didnt type "Pneumo-hydrocillating framizam" into the search bar, but the thread is already here and it really shouldnt be that much of a bother to explain what it is. Sorry im kind of aggravated because people who have no idea whether you have searched for the information yourself do this at every forum and basically tell you to look where you already have. It's annoying is all.

well type to type Pneumo-hydrocillating framizam into the search bar i guess... thanks for the help mpumas

Now I feel bad, I was just being silly. There is no such thing, I made it up. Sorry.

It seemed like they already told you what they thought it was. Got a digital camera? That would answer the qquestion without doubt if you could show us a pic.

Or...try searching the web for an exploded parts diagram of your motor, and see what that part is identified as on there. By searching for your engine's designation (as indicated on the emissions label under the hood, usually on the radiator yoke) , like H22a or whatever, and exploded diagram or parts listing, you can probably find a reference. There are a couple of Honda genuine parts suppliers that have this info, but I don't have any bookmarked, sorry.

Re: What's this part called?

It is not a bandwidth question. We are all volunteers here and are more then happy to research problems and give our best guess to solve your problem. But some problems keep coming up over and over and to keep responding to already researched problems takes time away from those problems that are new.

On the Lumina forum it's

My car starts shuddering at 40 mph, what's wrong?

It's the torque convertor lockup.
