amp w/ stock radio

not car specific, but would i be able to use an amp on a stock radio?

It's totally possible to use your stock headunit with an amp. What you'll need to get is a line level converter, otherwise known as a hi/low converter. It uses the existing signals coming off the stock speaker leads and converts them to an RCA signal that's usable by the amplifier. This depends, however, on the type of stock system you have. Some of the factory amplified systems make you do a little song and dance around 'em before getting those hi/low converters to work...but it's possible!
