Smile The thrill of getting a package...

Anyone else get all excited when they get a package in the mail? I dunno about you, but to me, its christmas lol.. cant wait to tear the thing up...

Well talk about surprises, I sure had one today!!!

I'm parking my car and my mom is on the front steps.. "Brian, you got another package today. More stuff for your damn car?"

I give her this look like... "a package? what package?"

I start thinking... hmm.. cant be the Tein's they're on the car already. Cant be the Nismo grill, got that already. Cant be the Hyper Rev cause Luke just sent it today. Cant be the Primera projector lights cause they're coming in 3 weeks. Cant be the IMPUL kit cause luke is only sending it tomorrow...

mom again: "well hurry up, get inside and get that thing outta the living room, its huge"

still puzzled i rush inside... look at the label and whats the first thing I read?? NEW ZEALAND!!!!

WOOHOOOO!!! THE LIGHTS ARE HERE!!

somehow, even though they were sent tuesday the 10th and I was told I'd have them in 3 weeks, they're here!! less than a week!!

man oh man do they look sweet!!! I got the 2 headlights, and the 2 corners with the bulbs already inside!! all the mounting points look exactly as ours so fitment should be no problem!! theres 3 screws on each individual beam (so 6 per light) which adjust the angle... I'm gonna fiddle with them to try and make sure I dont blind anyone with these RHD lights..

Warren, thanks for the help. I already emailed Russell and thanked him for getting them here so quick and for packaging them so well!!! LOL.. i think he went overboard w/ the bubble wrap, but I appreciate it!!

He wanted to know what you or me wanted next !!!

He was telling me how they looked and he tested them to see if they would fit etc on one that was there.
Only said about the angle of the light but they can be adjusted.
Glad to help ya out....anytime

I think the eyebrows will look fine. They're not that big so it wont cover the "parking" light too much on the corner and hide it... i'll have to test fit though...

By the way... I'll have to check this out but I think the dual lights will go in without ANY modification to the wiring... YES no mods... if my memory serves me correct the connector is the same... but I'll check tomorrow in the day light!

ok... well the dual lights w/ eyebrows look fine RCer! I tested this morning and they dont cover the corner light..

as for fitting the wiring, it looks like i was incorrect, but it will be easy!!! no need to run any new wiring..

the stock headlights have 3 wires going to the bulbs: ground(-), high beam(+), low beam(+)

on the back of the new lights there is a connector with 3 prongs on it. these prongs split those same three wires off to the 2 individual lights. from the back of the connector one (+) goes to the high beam, one (+) goes to the low beam light, and the ground (-) is split and runs to both bulbs. all i need is the connector and i'm set.

cut the connector off the old wiring, hook up the new connector and plug it into the headlight. it'll be that easy! i thought i'd have to run all new wires..

awesome! can't wait to see them...just a thought...do you think a HID conversion might work with those lights better than our current headlights now, because i know if we do it to our h4 headlights now the beam pattern will be all fucked up and will blind everyone but i do know it should work fine if those headlamps had an HID option from the factory but i dont know for sure, so does anyone know if the HID lighting is a factory option for the headlamps boogie just got??? if so, then it should work, but who knows...maybe someone from NZ

no its not an option on primeras...

how would fitting h4 hid's change the beam angle at all??? the earlier HID kits that were around $500 had some problems, but i dont think they even sell them anymore. the newer (even more expensive) kits have self leveling bulbs.. i've had an H1 kit waiting already before i got the new headlights.. they will go in together..

Its the casing itself, our stock (us-p11's) headlamp cases are designed for halogen bulbs not true hid-xenon lighting, its like riding with your high beams and low beams on all the time, its not shielded off. Only cars that were offered HID as an option from the factory can get HID conversion kits to work right because their housing is basically "HID-ready" One bulb for low-beams and one separate bulb for high-beams on each side. This will also give off the correct beam pattern. This is stuff I researched on the phillips lighting forums because I was once interested. They said some people even try to adjust their HID-conversions low enough not to blind anyone but i'm not sure how that'll work out.

note: you will lose your high beams also with a H4 to HID conversion kit. Because an H4 bulb has dual filaments for high beams and low beams and the "true" xenon bulbs that comes with the HID-kits only comes with a single filament for low beam only.

boogie - Your new headlamps have two separate bulbs on each side, so i figure your headlamps would be more "hid-ready" than any h4 housing made here. Just a thought :alien2:

Exactly nismoboy, in my case thats the reason why I want the dual headlights, I want HID since logn time, but I dont want to lose the high beam (I have a friend that do that to a Volvo S40 and told me you dont need high beam aafter having the HID).

b00gie, HID is an option on the european primera (144).
but we don't get that here

actually you're wrong..

they do have H4 HID's that operate on both high and low beam..

again I'm speaking of quality kits that are $1000, not the $500 HID kits by Vision and Gourmet Garage...

http://www.hitechimportlighting.com/bellofhid.htm

after you verify the fact that THEY DO make H4 HID's with high and low beam.. you can check out their FAQ and read this about this "beam problem" you speak of...

Quote:

What is the difference between the BELLOF HID Conversion Kits and other HID conversion kits?

The big difference between BELLOF HID conversion kits is that they are REAL direct replaceable conversions that require NONE of this "beam correction business" that all these other "fly by night" basement companies claim.

BELLOF Japan has been in this business long before all these "other" copycats started. BELLOF Japan has gone to the trouble of doing all the design work to make sure there are no "corrections" needed in installing their HID kits. What you are paying for is a completely professional conversion kit that does not need to be pieced or "glued" together like ALL the "other basement homemade kits" out there.

Sure lots of people claim that they can get "those kits" cheaper but be prepare to loose a lot of time over the installation experience as well as more money trying to make them "beam correct". The "others" also use a single igniter/inverter unit which leaves you with no option on where to place it due to the extremely short wire. Those companies also claim that they are using OEM parts in their conversion kits making their kits OEM spec, but fail to mention that because they are OEM parts, were never designed to mounted the way that mostly all end up being installed and make them far from being OEM.

Those "other" kits also leave your headlamps permanently altered. If you ever wanted to switch them back to Halogen, say if you were selling the car and you wanted to take along your HID investment, you would need major work on the headlamps or need to have them replaced altogether (yet even more money wasted).

wow! i never knew those dual beamed ones were out already, i knew they were in development, and yes the ones I looked at were the ones offered by gourmet garage.

so do the bulbs have a dual filament or does it come with some type of dual bulb conversion???

btw good find boogie...

they are dual filament just like your stock H4

they are expensive @ $1100 for a dual filament H4 or $900 for other bulbs... but supposedly Bellof is the BEST aftermarket HID kit
