Plans for Exhaust
Lately my exhaust has been getting continuous leaks in it due to old pipes, and my chrome tips are rusted so my main plan for my truck this summer is exhaust/intake. My exhaust plans are as follows, if possible I'd like to go with some full length headers, run that down to an x-pipe right underneath the cab, the actual X mark will be right underneath the cab, kind of a pivot point there on a half ton, then run those back to some 22" long 3.5" dia. tips. I'd like to keep the piping equal distance the entire way, which might be tough due to gas tank/trans case. I'm also going to go with 2.5" diameter the entire way, and hopefully stainless steel, I dont want this shit rusting. And intake I think I'm going to save a little money and make my own, like Slowprocess said in another thread. If not I'll have the money and I'll probably buy a AEM Brute Force, on the 305's they gained like 14 hp and 23 lb ft torque, so on a slightly modded 350 I'll expect a little bit better. I'd also like to get the 670CFM TBI unit out of the Jegs, but it says something like 87-89, I really don't see why it woudln't fit on a 92 but if it does I'd like that also, and if you guys think a TBI spacer would help possibly that. I'm open to any of your tips on this, I just want a good sounding truck that has power, actually power isn't the issure, there is PLENTY of that, even with the 3.42 rear end this fucker spins them in 4HI like there's no tomorrow, and in low range you have to be on pavement to get any traction, and even then they spin. So I guess I'm just looking for more airflow, better mileage with more power. I've basically said fuck doing anything to the body because if I happen to get in a wreck then that's likely to be money down the drain, while this stuff won't be totally wasted. I'd like your tips on this, and what you guys would expect for gains from these. The exhaust and intake should add quite a bit of a notice, and I'd assume that the larger TBI would make a nice improvement too.
