James Hetfield portrait

Hey everybody, sorry I haven't had much time to post lately, I've been too busy studying for exams.

This portrait is a couple of months old, but I thought some of you might be Metallica or Hetfield fans.

Alex

Re: James Hetfield portrait

Thanks guys.

Al: Nice to hear from ya this one is all graphite. Unfortunately, in real life, the dark areas are shiny in certain angles, and I burned thru almost a whole 8b pencil for the background.

Tokes: thanks, this is on 9x12"

Thanks for looking

Alex

Does Matti still hang at ArtPapa?

He said the graphite shine will go away if the work is displayed behind a frame w/ glass. Also a mechanical pencil seems to reduce the shine. I am working on my Silvia again and I think the 2b mechanical lead is as dark as 8b wood lead. I am doing all my darks w/ the 2b. Matti uses that also for darks.

Take care man

Al
