two kills in my 94 Z28!!! (stock too!)

today i took the normal saturday cruise around showing off my car <3 and i ended up at a red light with a guy in a baby blue neon(srt4 body style, but not the actual srt4, if you know what i mean?) and he looked at me and nodded. he had a girl in the car with him. his nod made me assume he wanted to race. well i read somewhere that to get the best launch hold the brake and rev to about 1000-1500rpms and launch. well i tried it and roasted my tires all through first and chirped them in second. i took him from the start and was about 2 bus lengths ahead of him when i was at 70 so i backed down. we met stuck in traffic at the next light. i gave him the thumbs up and we went our seperate ways. he was awefully slow, im not 100% sure he was giving it all he could. but then again neon vs Z28... maybe he was. lol

then i went home, cleaned out my car and went to sonic for a bacon cheeseburger(mmm). employee discount, biatch! well i left and went cruising again. i ended up getting passed by some teenager, maybe 17-18, in a newer looking grand prix(maybe GTP? not sure, it was quick though). he was speeding through light traffic, went around like 2 or 3 SUVs, not too bad. i followed. and as luck would have it we both ended up at a redlight. i ended up burning rubber the whole way across the intersection, he apparently eased on the throttle and was ahead of me by like 1-2 carlengths. my slushbox shifted into second and i blew by him. at like 90mph he was about 2-3 buslengths behind so i let off and he did a ricer flyby. no thumbs up from me.

on a side note, when you guys race or think one could arise from a situation(like seeing someone driving "spiritedly") or ending up at a red light with others, do you start shaking nervously like crazy? i do it for about 45min after the race even.

im going to try and go easy on races, on august 6-7 im hoping to do an autoX event, and i need my parents to approve me since im under 18. points on the license will more than likely end up in me selling the car and getting my license revoked. VA laws suck.

I used to my first couple of times i street raced, now i don't really even get a rush anymore. All though now that i am driven the foci its not the most envigorating when you floor it.

Back when i had the sartie, the first day i had the car (don't worry lady's and gents the car had 1,500 miles on it, i bought used) i raced my friends lightning, and it was the first time i had opened the car up. That was probably the biggest rush of my life.

i will safely guess mid 14s. i know the manuals will run low 14s and i've read(but dont really believe) very high 13s. i am at sea level so I may be in the low 14s? I was in OD in both races. I read that in D it is quicker until you need 4th gear, ill have to try that next time.

On a side note when i went to work today, i parked next to a guy in a riced out neon(wing, two upgraded wheels with like 10" wide tires... only on the rear, non drive wheels lol) and a pimped out vw jetta. the guy in the jetta looked familiar as i walked in to work. he asked if i was Tony and im like... whoa. it was my friend Sean from about a year ago when i used to ride flatland. we talked a bit before i had to clock in. im hoping to hook up with him tomorrow after church and before work on some empty road out in the country where there is no traffic(or cops). looks like ill have two more kills soon

ps - im in Virginia Beach.

Where in Montana? I'm 70 miles from Montana in Wyoming, and the WHP and MHP have been swarming hardcore this summer. I heard that they recruited a bunch of new patrolmen last year.

in ideal conditions, most lt1's can hit mid 13's and ls1's low 13's. F-bodies are fast, just cuz they are getting older doesn't mean they can't whoop ass. We aren't talking about a mullet rockin 305 tpi engine here guys.

Are you ready to step off your podium now? Most LT1s will run low 14s/high 13s in ideal conditions. Mid 13s if it's a strong running car on a windy day with motherfucking John Force at the wheel. Now LS1s will run mid 13s/low 13s ideally.

Nice kills. I've always been a fan of the LT1. btw, an automatic lt1 is about as fast if not a little faster than the manual. An auto LT1 will consistently run a 14.1 if its in good tune.

Good kills...and I dont get the shakes, but I get that warm feeling in my chest when the adrenaline is starting to be produced and shit, and I tense up a tad.
