Turning off daytime safety lights.

Hey guys, is there a simple way to turn off the day time lights and only be on when i turn the switch? can it be un done so when i need to pass inspection?

I have heard that using the headlight switch out of a GLX (or is it a GLS) will disable the DRLs. You do not need DRLs to pass inspection. They are an optional feature. Your insurance may go up however if you get a discount from your insurance company for having them.
