lifters 89 bronco II

I have what sounds like one lifter that is loose. The compression is good and I get great gas mileage and no oil burning. Can this be adjusted out?

Re: lifters 89 bronco II

Try running some engine flush thru it and changing the oil adding a product like "slick 50" or any other product like it with the new oil.
I did this with a 86 -2.9L and it went 15,000 till the tick returned.
There is no adjustment to the valve train, only the 2.8L was adjustable.
