Need Help!!!
Alright, my winter beater:P, the 90 esi died about a month ago. The old head was cracked and so i replaced it as well as timing belt/balance shaft belt. Put the car together and it worked great for a week. I put over 600kms on it in that week and didnt have a problem. Yesterday when driving home the car began to run really hot. The temp guage didnt read hot, but if you poped the hood the heat was very high compared to normal. So i pulled over, left it for an hour and came back. Drove it home and it was sluggish as hell and my lifters are now noisy as hell. So i took it home and took the valve cover off. There doesnt appear to be any oil reaching the head. Even with the car running there is no oil being pumped throughout the head. This is the seccond talon to do this to me in about a year. Exact same problem. So does anyone know why my car is doing this?.......I have changed the oil and filter, and that didnt do anything. theres lots of oil in the pan. On my old talon that did this, the connecting rod ended up snapping due to no oil being pumped. The only things i can think of are the oil pump and the pick up. Does anyone have any comments or ideas. I just got my car back together, and i really dont wanna end up ripping it apart again.
Thanks Tony

Re: Need Help!!!
I'm 99% positive that your problem is that the head gasket is installed upside down. This will block coolant trying to reach the cylinder head giving you the symptoms you described.

Re: Need Help!!!
I understand what your saying, but i guarentee you its not, the car ran fine for a week, with tons of kms being put on to it, i think its either the oil pickup or pump...but thanks...and i dont mean to jump at your opinion and shit, im just sayin i dont think it could be possible, and i have installed over 10 head gaskets on a talon in the last year and so i wouldnt do it wrong.
