Hi all, I have a 1995 Ford Taurus GL with the 3.0L V6 and the ignition lock cylinder is having problems. Replacement is easy enough, but getting the old one out is where I have the problem. The old cylinder wont allow the key to fully be inserted and thus I cant turn it to the run position to remove it. Anyone have any ideas at how to get the old one out, so I can get the new one in and have a car again? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!

Re: 95 Taurus Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement HELP PLEASE!
your going to have to drill it. my neighbor had the same problem when there child broke a pencil tip into the ignition. my neighbor pushed the pencil tip all the way into the back of the cylinder when he put the key into it. this prevented the key from going all the way, which prevented him from turning it. they ended up calling a locksmith which couldnt do anything about it but drill it out. sorry for the long boring story but you are going to have to drill it out.

Use a dent puller and insert the screw into the key hole. Their is a small pin that locks the cylinder in and the pin is soft enough so it will not damage the holder
