automatic gearbox
i have a 1.8 auto mk2 golf and the gearbox is playing up.
When moving from stand still it goes in 1st,then seems to be in 2nd for about 1 second then straight to 3rd. Does any one know if this is a common prob and is there a fix or is the gearbox n.f.g many thanks

the automatic transmissions are controlled for your ECU, so you may wanna check for codes before going any further. Or get a old 92 manual transmission and do the swap.
Automatic VW never were too good.... Sorry. And good luck
