Cams & JacksonRacing
Ive heard that the best cams to use with the jackson racing supercharger is the stock ones. Any reason why? Or is there an aftermaket cam (Crower, Skunk) that would work with the SC? Just curious cause im thinking of buying crower stage IIs but later on this year im buying the SC and i was wondering how they come together.

after market cams and cam grinds are usualy made for NA and have a higher over lap then stock cams. Which mean that there is a point in which the exhaust and intake valves are open at the same time in between the exhaust stroke and intake stroke. Having the intake valve open before the exhaust valve closes helps in expelling burnt exhaust gasses in NA engines. This is also what makes cams emissions unfriendly. As for for turbo and supercharging, u don't want that overlap because pressure created will be lost going out the exhaust valve. if u want cams with ur turbo or SC make sure they are made specificaly for positive pressure.

contact Crower & they will regrind or hardface a cam for you...but, you will have to send them a stock cam & tell them that it will be for a S/C or turbo & they will cut it specifically for that.
JRSC designs the S/C to be simple bolt-ons, no extra build on the engine, that's why they only make 5-7 lbs.

so i guess what everybody is trying to say is that the stock cams will work good with the jrsc. cuz i am going to purchase a sc later on too so i would like this info as well.
 also would it be better to leave the camsfats stock and just add new cam gears?

Althou Jackson wouldn't specify on which ones, they said that they have tested the SC with several cams and have either made no power or have seen power loss afted tuning. They did say how ever that there may be a cam that works with the SC, they just havent found one.
Im gonna remain with the stock cams for now till more test or finding are made. Also, once the SC is installed, will it be more difficult to install cam gears? Or does the pulley bracket have to be removed?
