Where'd your username come from?

Saw this idea in COT and thought it'd be interesting to see, where some of us got our usernames from.

Guess I'll start. Before I was into cars, I was into trick biking (the kind with pedals...not an engine) So me and a few friends really shelled ridiculous amounts of money (at the time) into our bikes as early teenagers. So my first bike that I hooked up was a GT Vertigo...and I dropped $500 into it. So the first time I went to create a username for something way back in the day, Vertigo and Vertigo500 were taken, so I switched some of the letters around...Igovert500 (which could also imply I go vertical in the half pipe) I dunno. It was my email and AIM screenname (not anymore) for quite a few years, so it kinda stuck.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Re: Where'd your username come from?

Dreamspawn came from my Counter Strike days. Used to play online and wanted a name to seperate me from those generic names *trust me there are alot of Michaels out there* So came with Dreamspawn *Spawn of Dreams* not like the coming book spawn but like somthing from your dreams.

Re: Where'd your username come from?

well, i've always been called the little of everything, to my dad. his nick name is grip, so people would call me younggrip
its a slang us african americans use to substitute for little, or the protege of someone....kinda understand me?

anyone listen to jay-z, he calls himself younghova. basically calling himself the protege of god or of a god(since he beleives all men are gods 5%)

so i call myself youngvr4

Re: Re: Where'd your username come from?

Mine, I just kinda picked a name since all my first choices were taken when I joined 3si. I then just carried the name over to every other forum I joined.

Re: Where'd your username come from?

Anyone seen Technoman (or Tekaman in Japan)? When I was a kid and UPN played it on Sunday mornings, I used to love the show so sLADe eventually became my alter-ego.

Re: Where'd your username come from?

I used to play Jedi Knight 2 back in the day ('97?) and my username was Twister...then that carried over to other games (CS, TFC)...and eventually onto a bowling ball. I've always used some form of Twisted, Twizta, etc. and then I got a 3kgt and BAM! my name became.

Well for me, my parents always called me hotshot when i was a little kid. That and i love the movie Hotshots: Part Deux. I've had this screenname on AIM ever since i was 16, and when i turned 16, i didnt have a cell phone, so my mom bought me a pager, and the last four digits of the pager number was 8792, so it was the only thing i could think of at the time. Finally got a cell phone right before i turned 17, tossed the pager, and still kept the screenname

Well, my name sorta has two meanings.

Firstly, I saw the movie "Wishmaster." It came out in '97 I believe. For some reason I fell in love with this movie because I love gory movies and I was young. Need I say more?

Wishmaster

Secondly, my last name is Wisch. I get called Wishy, Wischbone, Sqwisch, etc. So I just added the C to the name and that sorta stuck with me. I'm glad I wasn't the first person to think of this because a school buddy of mine just called me that one day.

Anywho... that's my story.

Re: Where'd your username come from?

Mine i got during pledging my fraternity in college. Ever see the movie Cadence? Charlie Sheen's character is named Private Bean. Anyway...I started using that name for Counter Strike, and pretty much everything else after that.
