Tranny Questions

I maybe looking to upgrade my tranny in a few years, so I'm wondering what all it would do for me. Maybe increased torque, hp or something.

I've heard the 4t65e is a good upgrade for a 2000 MC SS. What are some other options.

Also I heard Auroras come with a good OEM tranny, what type is it?

If yoy want to do that, make sure the plug in and gear ratio is the same.If you get one from an auto salvage yard,Make surre the round plug in is cut and still on the transmission.Basically make sure the wires are the same or the electrical has to be changed if differant. There is a metal tag on the case somewhere and there should be 3 letters(such as wsw, afw, etc),that tag tells what the gear ratio is or has to be within 10 on the gear ratio. If the gear ratio and electrical are not the same, transmission will not work at all.

the SS comes standard w/that tranny.

No tranny mods are gonna get you anymore torque or hp, they will only get the hp/torque you already have to the ground quicker/smoother. I suggest a Thrasher shift kit.

What would this shift kit do for me?

It increases the tranny line pressure which tightens up your shifts and also reduces wear and tear on the clutch plate.
