Need muffler from 2002 Maxima
I own a 2002 Maxima. I was examining the exhaust sytem for upgrades. The pipe that leads to the muffler is crushed down to 1.90 approximately outside diameter. I do not want an aftermarket muffler as most are to loud. If the factory muffler is bigger inside than the pipe leading to it them I could modify it to enlargen the inlet pipe.
Please let me know if you have one and how much.

what you are looking for is called a "B" pipe. it has a resonator on it to reduce the sound.

Maxrx7,
No, I am talking about the pipe that goes directly into the muffler. This pipe is also crushed down much like the Y pipe. The B pipe has the resonator in line with it. I want what is welded just forward to the muffler and the muffler or just the muffler. There are aftermarket Y and B pipes available but until I can do something about the muffler restriction full benefit won't be realized from a Y or B pipe.
