My 2001 Venture.. first month of ownership.

Hello guys;

I bought my 2001 Venture SWB 59000Km, (about 40K miles) at a Chevy dealership, on may 6th 2005. The van looked like a brand new one, perfect paint, pristine look, inside and out, when I bought it.

So, 2 weeks after the purchase, i already had a list of 7 minor problems (in my opinion...) to be fixed on my vehicle, before the "GM Optimum" warranty lapsed (3 months or 5000Km).

Here's what i had to be fixed on my vehicle.

1: 1 1/2 gallon of Dex-Cool, had to be added in the last 4 weeks.

2: Upon starting the vehicle, the digital mileage cluster worked intermittently, and, sometimes, would not turn on at all. I had to turn off the engine, and restart the engine for the mileage cluster to turn back on.

3: Both electric mirrors were not functionning properly.

4: Cruise control not keeping a constant speed, and, sometimes, would disengage when the left turn signal operated.

5: Rear brake bulb socket melted. Replaced... Melted again.

6: Small (oil like substance) spot (2 inches wide) under the vehicle, on the passenger's side.

7: Vibration in the power steering, when turning the steering wheel (at low speed).

Well, my van has been in the shop for 4 straight days now...

They told me they had to replace the lower intake gasket, both electric mirrors, the entire gauge cluster(on order... not arrived yet), the rear left tail light circuit board, the cruise control switch/turn signal assembly. Apparently, they found nothing wrong with the power steering pump...

Hopefully, everything is gonna be allright from now on.

Yves.

Good thing you caught them while under warranty.
