Me and a 350Z have it out

On the way home tonight I had a run in with a really nice 350Z. Here is what happened.

I was driving on the interstate doing about 70 when a really nice red 350Z puls up close to me I look over at him and he nails it and off he goes, the road was quite deserted so I down shifted and take off after him. I am doing about 110-120 and really winding out my tach, but I was slowly catching up to him. At about 130 I guess he backs off satisfied that he had beat me. I consent defeat even though I was right on his tail when we both backed off. I start slowing to a more legal speed because my off ramp was coming up. I get over into the exit lane and the 350Z drops back behind me and exits with me. We pull up to the first stop light with him pulling next to me. He looks over an REVS... I do the same and I here myself saying you are in my game now. The light turns and we both take off pretty even, with me slightly ahead of him. I switch to second and I gain a car on him and I keep the lead until about 90 when I was about half a car ahead him. I shut it down because the road was coming to a large curve and I claim the win for myself. We pull to the next light and he yells over nice stang it runs real strong then he says "You know if we had a little more road I would have beat you." I sad yes that is probly so, but I take the victory here... He laughs and says I will give you that, but I had you on the highway. I agree with him and we part company one win a piece...

The 350 is a bit faster than I had thought it to be and I hope I get a chance to run another oone as both cars were pretty even in power...

Good races there

The 5.0's torque will take it on the street but out on the highway is a different story.

Anyway, have you done anything new to your stang lately? The last thing I remember you saying you got was slicks. Have you added anything to that?

I added a jacobs ignition system, Nitto 555R drag radials, 65mm throttle body, and a 73mm MAF. Just got me a set of E7TE CNC ported and polished heads, 1.6 cobra roller rockers, eldelbrock 5.0 rpm intake and a ed curtis custom grind cam. I will be installing these items this weekend if the weather holds...Oh yea let's not forget that new FRPP T5 heavy duty tranny....

I also am now a member of the 13 second club...

Sounds about right. Their trap speeds are about even with yours.

Re: Me and a 350Z have it out

I always had a love/hate relationship witht the foxbodies. I'd love to have one, but I hate it when I get raped by them...damn your huge aftermarket and simple design!! :shakes fist:

Good race though.

yeah those mods really helped alot, had you raced the Z a few months back when you were trapping at 94mph, he would've beaten you, but those mods gave a good amount of power. good race.
