Well my car was just in the shop the other day because I was having radiator issues but we won't go there...
On Tuesday of this week, I drove it home, it started and ran fine. It was only being driven for about 5 minutes. I didn't turn on any lights or anything. My license has been suspended so I haven't really been driving it. I tried to start it Wednesday night and nothing...I have no electricity whatsoever. Not even my power locks or my horn works. I have no idea what's wrong and I don't think it's my battery. It's definitely not my alternator because I just got that replaced in December. Anyway, a battery problem wouldn't make the car not work at all, right? Someone please just tell me what I can do or what might be wrong? Any advice is greatly appreciated! |

Re: no power at ALL
Well, if your battery was completely dead then yeah, that would cause those type of things to happen.

how?

Well, if you're battery is old, then it really doesn't take much to kill it. If you left your glove box or the doors open or anything that might leave the lights on, that could probably kill it. In my 92 cutty, I was suprised that when I didn't pull the key out in the middle ( all the way back lets the radio come on) it killed my battery even though only the clock was on.

Re: no power at ALL
Check to see if either of your battery cables are loose... Also check the aux postive battery terminal, sometimes the nut comes loose and has been known to cause problems.

Re: Re: no power at ALL
Yep it was the battery....Got a new one and replaced it...My car works now!!
I don't have a reservoir for windshield washer fluid anymore though because some idiot decided to design a car with the battery underneath a reservoir. Oh well. Thanks for the help! |

what on earth do you mean; "you don't have it anymore?" you just need to unplug the reservoir and it comes off, then you plug it back in. Hopefully you didn't just throw it away....
