Question Its finally time... YEAH! The tranny is going

Hey all

Here is the scoop, I bought my blazer because I could not find a 4Dr stick available when I bought mine. I bought it with the knowledge that eventually I would swap out the Crappy 4L60E trans with a manual.

Well I am now getting a P1870 code and thats all the excuse I need to start at it. This is where I am asking for your guys help.

Do you guys know of some good resouces that can tell me compatiability of trans for my truck or would anyone know?

I am assuming an S-10 4X4 will fit but they are EXTREAMLY hard to find. I have been asking around for a couple of months now and no-one has one in the GTA area.

Could someone let me know what else may fit? C1500.... etc and if I will have to trade tails on the trans or do I need a new transfer case too?

I can find all kinds of resouces on how to swap a V-8 into my truck but I like the engine just want to be able to get the power to the ground where it should be.

Any and all help is appriciated
Jason

Any nv3500 (w/ the 4x4 tail shaft) from a 4.3 or 350 will be a direct fit. Doesn't have to be from an s10.

is there a change to be made for the grearbox at all, Right now I know that the Trans fluid moves freely between the Trans and Transfer case. Will it be the same for the Manual or does it use the old standard Gear oil? Would you know if the length of it is diff as well. (thinking having to get griveshafts shortened/lengthened
