Fog Light Lens Replacement?

Sup guys,

I tried seaching the forum for this problem but didnt come up with anything positive, I recently purchased a 99 eclipse spyder and the driver's side fog light lens is cracked, is there anyway I can just get the lens or light replaced and not the whole black casing with the light? The Dealer's are chargin $274.00 for one, junk yard is chargin $100.00. Is there any way I can just replace the light and get this fixed or replaced without paying that much? It doesnt hurt to ask?

btw, I'm new to the board and a proud owner of a 99 silver spyder (just got it yesterday). Peace to my new fellow mitsubishi brothas!

not sure if you can replace just the lens, but for about $100 you can get a brand new one off ebay

I'm pretty sure he meant the whole thing.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...sPageName=WDVW

This is the cheapest one I found. There were a few more for around $120.

Re: Fog Light Lens Replacement?

or check around the forums for people that had to remove the fogs cause they put in a fmic and the piping didn't fit around.. I know that happens..

With the current one if it just has a crack I'd say superglue the crack up or use silicon make sure it gets inside. Then scrape it clean just so it's waterproof.

I've read this post a few times and thought about how to be helpful, but I keep coming up short.

My first piece of advice is to call your local mitsu dealer to see if there are separate part numbers for the lens and foglight, itself. They'll know, and if they have the part I doubt the lens itself would be very expensive.

Next, I would either see if you could get a similar lens custom made, or follow nova's advice. The superglue idea is good stuff. DSMer style, lol. If you have more time than money, and most of us do, I would try to make what you have work. No need to replace the whole fog if there's no need to.

Lastly, congrats on the buy! Welcome to DSMs and AF. If you want to include your vehicle info in your signiture, that would be good. In future posts we'll be able to refer to it to see what car you have. Good luck with the fog.

Re: Fog Light Lens Replacement?

I had to replace one of mine recently and found that you can't buy just the lens through a dealer. I looked at ebay, but didn't want to wait and possibly not win them. I did a Google search and ended up at partstrain.com. I bought the whole set up for $125, brand new, oem replacement. That's half the price new through a dealer.
