Question 93 325IS Fuel pump

I have a 93 325is, im not sure if the fuel pump is bad or what...i cant hear the pump prime its self when you put the key in the on position, so im thinking its either the pump its self, a bad relay, bad wire or bad computer.... of corse im gunna start with the relay, but has any of you ever changed a the fuel pump on one theese ?... Does the tank need to be droped or is there an access panel somewhere, like maybe behind or under the rear seats or something like that... and ive never put a fuel pump in a BMW and i was wondering if you needed any special tools.

I have a 93 325is also. The fuel pump relay went bad, it was the one located with the fuses. The car would run for a while then quit, this would happen at any time, once I replaced the relay everything has been fine.

Re: 93 325IS Fuel pump

I have replaced my fuel pump on my 93 325is. under the rear seat on the passanger side is where the pump is. take off the cover and just disconnect the wires and unscrew the plastic cap and pull it out. Its actually really easy. the manual says you need a special tool to remove the cap but i didn't need one.
