evo fun power band

I just bought an evo8 and I love it i like the looks ,power , and driver connection. I was wondering if any 1 knew what mods would make it even more kinetic with the driver(me) ,and/or give a better power band ,and what can cams do for me? I would love hp and torque but being the fastest isnt my goal ,which is good cuz thats a battle for ppl who car whose car is faster. i just like driving especially down my dirt road and land we have here. any help is apprecciated. no need for debates please unless needed . I had a prelude before this and loved that too. also what weight reductions are worth it? thank you --Chuck B

Re: evo fun power band

The evo is good for 400hp. You will need 3 inch turbo back exhaust a boost controller of some sort and an safc. A better bov and intercooler piping. Cams are good but you really are going for high power numbers and the evo cams are really good as is. hope this helps

Hey dude I also have an evo 8 and it is crazzy fast here are my mods, Hks super suction intake, boost controller, intercooler hoses and piping, arp head studs, underdrive pulley, megan racing catback exuaust, megan racing high flow cat, megan racing down pipe, megan racing turbo outlet, and megan racing exauhst manifold. my boost is set on 20. I am planing on cams next and that other guy doesnt know what he is talking about u get huge hp and torque gains but i would recomend getting a piggyback style ecu as well with the cams.

Maybe you didn't read this line cams are great but he will loose some of his bottom end power but not alot; and cams for the evo are 400 bucks plus labor . The point being is if you want some more power with out spending as much as he has that is all you will really need...

whatever you do please do not buy Megan racing parts.....if you have the money i would suggest upgrade turbo, BOV, intercooler, intake, header, high flow cat(or none if you dont care about getting caught)good exhaust. some good names are Apex, Greddy, HKS, Tial, RalliArt, uhhh tons of others.
