Insurance

OK I'm 18 and I'm going to finance a 2000 or 2001 Z28 next week but I need to know if I will have to get full coverage insurance? If I do it's going to kill me.

Thanks in advance

Re: Insurance

In your name full coverage on a V8 would kill you.. in your parents name full covereage isn't bad at all.... I pay 86.50 a month on a 95z for the best full coverage policy they offer.. just not in my name..

Re: Insurance

definitely, but if you have a wreck or get a ticket you're screwed...

I'm on my own account and pay $225 a month for full coverage on my Trans Am... Oddly they cost more to insure than Camaros, I guess because they had a higher value...

Higher value? There shouldnt be a difference between Maro's and Birds in insurance, that IS weird.

Re: Insurance

I was paying $225 a month and switch insurance companies and it went down to $185. So it has nothing to do with value.

Re: Insurance

Ah, the only advantages of getting older, I'm paying what you guys are for 6 months worth of coverage, laibility only of course, I leave the full coverage up to my rep at smith & wesson which cost 250 one time shot (no pun intended).

Well that doesnt see that bad in my opinion. You are 16 with a 275 hp sports car that can still own alot of these newer cars.

I'm 16 and I got a quote for myself for a 95 Z28 (V8 of course) with average kms and all, and it was only $150/month Canadian(roughly $120 American),I was blown away and confused, there had to be a mistake..

Re: Insurance

Camaros do cost less though... Before I bought my Trasn Am, I checked on a 00' Z28, it was going to be $212 a month... With the same company, my quote on the Trans Am was $224($12 more) on a car that was one year older... Their quote was accurate as well, becaust that is what I pay now(I have ALFA btw)

Would the price difference have anything to do with the wreak on your record?

Re: Insurance

My insurance company charges more for Camaros. They even told my parents that the Camaro is the highest to insure for anything under a Corvette-level sports car.

Re: Insurance

Because punks buy Cmaaros and crash them. Real drivers buy them, mod them, and own everyone with them.Really, with full mods, what other car can take on a Camaro, besides a T/A? The Mustang Cobra? If you ever go to SVT performance. com they talk very respectfuly of the F-bodies.

Re: Insurance

I don't have a wreck on my record... I've only had one wreck... A chick backed into me when I had my Z28... We never turned it in though(her dad paid out of his pocket)... So my record is clean(even no speeding tickets, *crosses fingers*)....

The pic in my photo album in my sig happened at the drag strip, some bastard in a Honda backed into my car, I had saw him and a bunch of other people all gathered around in front of my car earlier but ignored them and went and sat in the bleachers to watch some racing... About 45 minutes later a guy comes running up and says, "Some guy just hit your car and drove off"... I walked over there and sure enough there was 2 black scuff marks on the nose of my car... A guy who saw it told me it was a black Civic, so I remember seeing the Civic parked in front of my car and walked over to some of the people who was talking to him and still over there... I asked them if they knew the driver and some punk(who obviously knew him but wouldn't tell me his name) got smart with me and was like "I don't know his name, its not my problem, its yours"... So a busted eye later he and his friends got in their cars and left...

People ask me why I busted his eye I was like "Well, if one of your friends hit someones car and the owner busted your eye over it, wouldn't you kick your friend's ass?"... I would, and hopefully he did, if he did mission accomplished... If he didn't, I guarantee he regrets lying to me...

The scuff marks buffed out and left the two small indentions...

Now its barley noticeable(not at all from a distance)
