Boyds in a bottle

i visited hobby lobby today. and was surprised by these little bottles of boyds paint. this was the first that i had seen of them. so i had to pick up a couple. one in true blue pearl and the other in grape pearl. i just got finished spraying a 67 vette convertible in the true blue pearl. this stuff layed super smooth, it is only my 3 airbrushed paint job and it looks immaculate. there is a little fine orange peel. but nothing like i would get with my dupli color spray cans. i will hit it with some dupli color clear in a bit to harden it up so it can be polished.

Yep, I used Pearl Orange on my RX7, very good paint. Becarful using duplicolor clear, Light mist coats, atleast 4-5 before you do a wet coat. Have to remember Lacquer over Enamel wont work at all if you spray heavy.

Yep, the classic Testors enamel Colors By Boyd range. I can't tell you how many jars of True Blue Pearl I've gone through in my day.

Heck, the Pactra True Blue Pearl with Indy Silver is what I paint just about all of my lexan slot car bodies.

Re: Boyds in a bottle

You should really consider spraying an enamel clear over that.No need to risk it ruining your base coat.

no risk if you spray lightly, I've never had a bad reaction.
